I wonder what exactly Krasheninnikov meant by "optimistic tragedy". I will read the book, it may shed light on things that back then, in the 90s, we here in Bulgaria looked at from the sidelines and did not fully understand. Thanks for the information.

Interesting to say, Stoyan. "Optimistic tragedy" sounds like the classic formulation of someone who wants to justify the chaos of the 90s with some greater meaning. I personally hope that the book will explain why so many people lost their jobs and no prospects right then, and not just tell us about the "great reforms". I'll look for her too.
