I see the Patriarch of Jerusalem himself came for the feast at the Gethsemane monastery dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. Must have been a powerful liturgy with him there. Our choir always sings her troparion on August 4th — makes me wonder how they did it in the Holy Land.

Yes, I read it too. Patriarch Teofil personally came to the monastery in Gethsemane on the day of Saint Mary Magdalene. In our choir, we sing the troparion on August 4 exactly as Basil says, but I wonder how the service would have been chanted there, with all the monks and pilgrims gathered near the Lord's Tomb.
