Good to hear that. The support from the Russian Church at such times counts, especially for the Armenian Church which is having a hard time with Artsakh. Let it be for the good of both our peoples.

It is good that the ROC told Garegin II directly. In times like these, every support counts, especially since Artsakh was left without people. Hopefully it will help the Armenians without turning into another politician.

It's good to see the Russian Church saying this straight to Karekin II. In tough times like these after Artsakh, any clear support between churches matters. Hope it stays about faith and doesn't get pulled into politics.

Yes, Kostas, this support is important, as you say. I remember last year fishing with my son talking about Artsakh and how the neighboring peoples should stick together. I hope something good will come out of both Churches.

Yeah, direct words like that to Karekin II carry more weight than press releases. After what happened in Artsakh, a bit of clear church solidarity does help keep things grounded in faith. Do you reckon the Armenian side will respond in kind, or will it stay one-way for now?

Yes Peter, I agree that support from the Russian Church can help. Last year when I went to cut wood in the mountains near Troodos I was thinking how important it is for Christian communities to stay united, especially with so many problems around. I hope it's not just words, what do you say?

Yes, Peter, the direct statement to Karekin II carries weight, as you say. I remember last year I was playing chess with my husband and we were discussing exactly this, how the Churches should stick together in difficult times like Artsakh without getting involved in politics. I hope something tangible comes out of it and not just words.

I agree, Vasil, the direct word weighs more than general statements. With so many people having to leave Artsakh, any real support for the church there is important. I wonder if Garegin II answered anything specific to these words.

Yes, Bohdana, direct support counts more, especially since so many families from Artsakh have dispersed. I heard that Garegin II gave thanks and mentioned the need for common prayers for the refugees, but I'm not sure if he added anything of practical help. What do you think, will the church there be able to keep the people around it now?

I think the direct statement does carry more weight, especially after everything that happened in Artsakh. Our own parish here in Chicago has prayed for the Armenian Church a few times this year, and it felt like the right thing. Do you think Karekin II will mention it publicly, or keep it quieter for now?

I agree, those direct words matter more than any statement in the papers. Our choir sang a few Armenian hymns last fall during a prayer service for Artsakh, and it brought a real sense of shared burden. Do you think the ROC’s support might open the door for joint aid projects down the line?

Vasil, I agree that the direct word to Garegin II carries weight. I just wonder if this support will reach ordinary Armenians in Armenia and not just the hierarchy. I hope he doesn't stop at words.
