On July 7, the Church celebrates the Nativity of the honest, glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John. On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Divine Liturgy in the Church of John the Baptist in Kirov will be led by Metropolitan Mark of Vyatka and Slobodskaya. The service begins at 8.00.

We invite believers to pray together during the service!

The Nativity of John the Baptist is one of the great holidays. Great holidays in importance come after the 12 twelfth holidays. The Nativity of John the Baptist is celebrated on July 7 according to the new style. On this day, believers remember how the future prophet was born into the family of the Jewish priest Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth, who would predict the coming of the Messiah - Jesus Christ, and then baptize him in the waters of the Jordan River.

The Nativity of John the Baptist is an everlasting holiday. It is celebrated on July 7 (June 24, old style).

I'll try to make it on the 7th. The early start at 8:00 works for me since I like to get there before the crowd fills in. Always good to hear Metropolitan Mark serve, especially on such a big feast for St. John.

Lord, save that Metropolitan Mark will serve. I also plan to come at eight, because after nine it is already difficult to find a place where there is no crowd. Zacharias and Elizaveta must have been waiting for such joy for a long time, just as we are waiting for this day.

Yes, Lyudmila, I also always try to come before eight, because then there really is nowhere to drop an apple. And it is interesting about Zachariah and Elizaveta that they were already in the years when the Lord gave them such a child - it reminds us that it is never too late to hope. God bless you for your service.

Yes, Solomia, I also try to make it to eight o'clock, because then you stand like a herring in a barrel. As for Zacharias and Elizaveta, it's good that you reminded me, my wife often repeats that the Lord gives everything in his time, even when you are not expecting it. God bless you for your service.

Yes, Mykhailo, I also try to come by eight, because then you really can't squeeze through. And your wife is right about Zachariah and Elizaveta - they often mention it in our family too, especially when the daughters ask about the children. Save, Lord, that we go together.
