On July 21, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass took part in a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State National Policy. Opening the meeting, Governor Alexey Teksler noted the importance of the active work ongoing in the Chelyabinsk region within the framework of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia declared by the President. “For our multinational region, this initiative is of particular importance - it helps to strengthen mutual understanding and preserve the cultural diversity of the Southern Urals,” the head of the region emphasized. The governor recalled that the region hosted “Rasulev Readings”, the “Trinity in Troitsk” festival, a media studio was opened for the Chelyabinsk branch of the “Cybers” movement, where they will film modern content about the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia, municipal events were held, and all of them were organized at a decent level. “Our key task is to ensure high-quality and complete implementation of the regional and federal plans for the Year of Unity events. Samuel MitchellGood to see Metropolitan Alexy there. The Rasulev readings and the Trinity festival in Troitsk sound like solid events that actually bring people together instead of just checking boxes. Hope the new media studio puts out something worthwhile for the younger crowd.

Ewa KaczmarekIt's good that Metropolitan Alexy was there - these "Rasulev readings" and the festival in Troitsko are things that really bring something, not just ticking boxes. I wonder what exactly this new media studio will produce for young people, because so far young people mainly scroll through memes on the Internet.

Mateusz NowakI agree, these Rasulev readings and the festival in Troitsko are not just empty talk, I was at a similar one last year and people really stayed longer than planned. As for this media studio, apparently they are going to start with short videos about how grandmothers from different nations bake bread for Christmas - maybe this will finally distract young people from memes. What would you tell them to shoot?

David ScottThe Rasulev readings and the Trinity festival in Troitsk seem like the kind of things that actually stick with people instead of fading after the photos are taken. I’m curious what the new media studio will put out first – short clips of grandmas from different nationalities baking bread sounds like a good start if that’s true. Hope they keep it real and not too polished.

Sophia YoungThe Rasulev readings definitely stayed with me – my neighbour still quotes bits from the one she went to. That media studio idea of grandmas baking bread together could work if they let the ladies just chat naturally instead of scripting it all. What sort of clips do you think would actually get the younger ones watching?

Aleksandra KaczmarekI agree, these Rasulewski readings always have a specific program, not just speeches. As for the media studies, I wonder if they will show something from our Orthodox traditions from the Urals, because in our parish a lot of young people ask about films about the holidays. What would you like to see there?
