Today we celebrate the Twelve Apostles. I remembered my grandfather who always said "without them we wouldn't know anything about Christ". Let us ask them to keep us united in our parish.

Your grandfather said it well, Theodore. Without the Twelve we would have neither the Gospel nor the Church. Let's ask them to keep our parish united here in Patras, as you say.

The Twelve Apostles really did hand everything down to us, just like your grandpa said. Without them we wouldn't have the Gospels or the sacraments that get us through the week. Praying they keep our own parish here in Denver steady too.

Thank you brothers. Without these twelve, we would really know nothing about Christ - neither the Gospel, nor even how to be baptized correctly. In our parish in New York, we also often remember how they passed everything on, and ask that they keep our community in peace.

Thank you, Alexander. In Nizhny, too, at the liturgy today we remembered how the apostles handed down everything; without them we wouldn’t even know how to baptize. And my late grandfather always said: “They are the first in the chain, and we are the last, hold on to them.”

Without them we wouldn't know anything about Christ, as those grandparents in the comments said. Here in Sibiu, in the kitchen after service, we always say that they left us how to knead the dough and how to pray. To keep us together too.

Thank you, Sophia. At our service in Yaroslavl today they also talked about how the apostles passed on everything to us. Your grandfather was right about the chain, I explain the same to my granddaughter when she asks why we need these old names. Which church in Nizhny have you been to?
