Saw the bit about the sisters visiting the oncology ward every week. That’s the kind of steady, quiet work that actually helps families get through the hard days. Good to see the film made.

The oncology ward visits really stood out to me too. My shift at the hospital showed me how much it means when someone just shows up regularly with a listening ear instead of big speeches. Nice they put it in the film.

Yes, they showed a good story about the nurses in the oncology department. Here in Novosibirsk, too, people like this go to the hospital, once a week, with tea and just to talk - and then their relatives thank them for not leaving. The film is worth watching, especially for those who think that mercy only means a lot of money.

The regular visits make all the difference, don't they. I remember bringing cookies to the oncology floor last year and the patients mostly just wanted to talk about their grandkids or what was on TV, not deep theology. Did your hospital shift include any of the baking we did for their tea times?

Thank you, Elena, for writing about Novosibirsk. In Yaroslavl, our sisters also go to the oncology department, but more often with icons and just to sit next to them. But I haven’t heard about tea - that’s a good idea, I’ll have to suggest it to our people. The film is really useful, especially for those who think that you can’t do anything without a wallet.

Yes, sëstry v onkootdelenii — éto samoe nezhnoe. Here in Kragujevac, volunteers from the church go to the hospital once a week, carry blankets and sit by the bedside, and the relatives say afterwards that it means the most to them. The film is good because it shows that quiet side, and not just big actions.
