The wards of the Radius social rehabilitation center venerated the ark with a portion of the relics of St. blzh. Matrona of Moscowtranslated

August 13, 2026 · 1 min read

On August 13, wards of the Radius social rehabilitation center from the autonomous non-profit organization Social Welfare, accompanied by parents and teachers, visited the Ascension Cathedral. Together with the head of the department for work with youth of the Simbirsk diocese, Sergei Nikolaev, they read the troparion, kontakion and prayer at the ark with a piece of the relics of the blessed blessed Matrona of Moscow, which is in the cathedral from August 12 to August 23.

The head of the diocesan youth department told the center's wards about the life of the Holy Blessed Matrona and briefly reminded them of the history of the Ascension Cathedral and the heavenly patron of the city, St. Blessed Andrei of Simbirsk. Then the cathedral guests venerated the shrine.

All excursion participants received missionary booklets with the life of St. Matrona of Moscow. The head of the youth department donated a calendar with churches to the Simbirsk Metropolitanate as a gift to the Radius center.

In September, a meeting dedicated to churches and monasteries of the Ulyanovsk region is planned on the territory of the center.

It is good that the children from "Radius" were brought to Matrona. I especially liked that Serhii Nikolaev also told them about Blessed Andriy Simbirskyi - our heavenly patron, it is always useful to be reminded of him. I am waiting for the meeting in September, maybe our parishioners will join.

I’m glad that the wards of “Radius” were able to venerate the relics of Matrona - she so often helps in the simplest everyday matters. It’s good that Sergei Nikolaev also told about Blessed Andrei Simbirsk, it’s really useful to remind about him. I wonder what kind of meeting will be held in September on the territory of the center, maybe one of our people will be able to come too.

It's good that the children from "Radius" just came to Matrona and also heard about our Andrej Simbirski. That troparion and the prayer by the coffin must have been nice. I wonder if at the September meeting they will also show photos of the churches from the calendar they gave them.

Yes, I agree, it was good that Sergei Nikolaev also mentioned our Andrey Simbirsky to them, that certainly appealed to them. The calendar with churches is a nice gift, children from Radius are sure to look at it at home. I wonder if parents will also come to the September talk, or only teachers.
