Patriarch of Romania at Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada Congress

Patriarch Daniel of Romania delivered a message on Saturday to the Congress of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, which took place in Montreal from July 3 to 5, emphasizing the vital role of women in the Church and society and reaffirming the importance of strengthening the Christian family.

Addressing the participants, the Patriarch noted that contemporary society presents numerous challenges to the institution of the family, making the Church’s pastoral mission more important than ever.

“We live in a time when the institution of the family faces multiple challenges, and the role of women in the Church and society requires deeper understanding and appreciation,” Patriarch Daniel said. “The Christian woman is a model of faith, self-sacrificial love, and piety.”

The Romanian Patriarch stressed that the Church has a responsibility to support and strengthen Christian families by providing pastoral guidance and spiritual assistance throughout all stages of family life. He underscored the importance of preserving Christian values and nurturing faith within the home, which he described as the foundation of both Church and society.

Добре казано от Патриарха. Особено ми хареса, че подчертава ролята на жената като модел на вяра и саможертва – точно това виждам в жена ми и в нашите две дъщери всеки ден. Семейството наистина е основата, без него църквата трудно ще стои.

Согласен с Патриархом, что семья — это основа. У нас в Петербурге тоже видно, как без крепкой жены и матери всё в приходе шатается. Моя покойная матушка именно такой и была — и веру детям передала, и в храм всех тянула, без громких слов.

Полностью согласна с Патриархом Даниилом. У нас в Минске тоже видно, как жена и мать держит семью — моя свекровь, царство ей небесное, без шума всех в храм водила и детям веру привила. А сейчас, когда кругом столько соблазнов, пастырская помощь семьям действительно нужна, особенно на таких съездах.

Da, familia e temelia, cum zice Patriarhul Daniel. La noi în parohia din Craiova văd exact asta la soțiile care duc copiii la cateheză și țin rânduiala acasă, chiar când bărbații sunt plecați la muncă. Bine că a amintit de sprijinul pastoral, că acum cu atâtea provocări chiar e nevoie.
