On July 30, the abbot of the Joseph-Volotsk stauropegial monastery, Archimandrite Sergius (Voronkov), fulfilling a centuries-old spiritual tradition, performed a memorial service at the burial place of the mother of the Monk Joseph of Volotsk, schema-nun Maria, in the restored Peter and Paul Church of the former Vlasevsky Monastery in Volokolamsk.
The deputy dean of the Volokolamsk district of the Odintsovo diocese, priest Mikhail Zavitaev, greeted the father-vicar and prayed at the memorial service.
