Pilgrims from Krasnoyarsk visited the churches of the village of Esaulovo and the city of Sosnovoborsktranslated

Last Sunday, the churches of the Savior Not Made by Hands in the village of Esaulovo and the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Sosnovoborsk were visited by pilgrims from the Krasnoyarsk church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy”. The group was led by the rector of the church, Priest Oleg Walter.

The first point of the car pilgrimage was a church under construction in the village of Esaulovo, where the guests visited the construction site - a historical site where there was previously a stone church that was destroyed in the mid-20th century.

In Sosnovoborsk, the director of the Sunday school, Natalia Ilyushchenkova, cordially greeted the pilgrims within the walls of the church and socio-cultural center “Vvedensky”. She gave the guests a detailed tour of the church: she told them about the decoration and architectural features, unique paintings and holy images, and also introduced them to the history of the parish. Of particular interest to the visitors was their acquaintance with the activities of the Vvedensky Orthodox Center, where active educational and social work is carried out.

The meeting ended with a conversation with the rector of the parish of the Entry into the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Sosnovoborsk, Archpriest Nikolai Chikhichin, and a meal organized by Sosnovoborsk parishioners. The pilgrims thanked...

Sounds like a great trip. The part about the old stone church site in Esaulovo really caught my eye — it's good they're rebuilding there. Natalia’s tour of the painted walls and the work at the Vvedensky centre must have been interesting; did the kids from the Sunday school get to meet the pilgrims too?
