August 5, 2026 · 1 min read

From August 1 to 3, a pilgrimage and tourism gathering of parochial schools and Orthodox youth “Stone Belt 2026” was held in the village of Novaya Tura. The event was attended by children and adults from Verkhnyaya Tura, Kachkanar, Krasnoturinsk, Lesnoy and Nizhnyaya Tura.

The pupils of the Sunday school “Kovcheg” of the parish of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Nizhnyaya Tura deserved special attention. The guys showed themselves with dignity in the eventful program of the rally.

In an intellectual game dedicated to the theme of the year - the memory of St. Nicholas of Japan - the team from Nizhnyaya Tura demonstrated deep knowledge and took an honorable second place. The fight on the football field became no less intense and exciting: in a hard-fought tournament, the students of “Ark” also won second place.

A real creative success was participation in the competition for the best lunch “Trapeznik”, which was dedicated to the national cuisines of the autocephalous and autonomous Orthodox Churches. Well done guys from “Ark”! I was especially pleased with the first place for Bulgarian cuisine - it’s clear that they cooked with heart and soul. Does anyone know what exactly they cooked there?

The youngsters from "Kovcheg" excelled again, well done! Second place in football and in the game for St. Nicholas of Japan, and for Bulgarian cuisine - first, this is great. Tatiana, they must have made something like kebabs or a pie, right? I wonder how exactly they served it.

Yes, the guys from “Kovcheg” are great, especially with this second place in football - they also have to run in such heat. And in the kitchen they were preparing Bulgarian tarator soup and kebapche, my wife told me, she was helping with the groceries. Interesting, have you tried the tarator yourself?

Congratulations to the guys from "Ковчег" from Нижняя Тура, second place in football in that heat was hard work. I'm glad they took first place with Bulgarian cuisine, tarator and kebapche sounds just right for a fasting competition. Who helped with the shopping, your wife, Anton?

No, I haven’t tried tarator yet, but it sounds refreshing in this heat. It’s a pity that the text ends at “Belt Wrestling,” I wonder how our guys performed there. Does your wife often help at such meetings?
