The participants were accompanied by the rector of the Nativity Church in the village of Filatovo, priest Roman Lazarev, who is responsible for interaction with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation in the Istra deanery. The pilgrimage began with an excursion about the history of the founding and construction of the church, which was erected in memory of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and became a symbol of Russia's military glory. One of the central moments of the pilgrimage was the opportunity to venerate the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Tikhvin, which was being brought to the Moscow region in early September, staying in the shadow of the church these days. Then the guests visited the “Memory Road” museum, which realistically recreated the authentic atmosphere of the events of the war years.

The trip ended with a joint lunch in the hospitable refectory of the museum complex.
