Timothy of Thessalio: God's providence changed the life of Saint Procopiustranslated

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the day on which our Church commemorates the holy and glorious great martyr Procopius, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaly, Mr. Timotheus, officiated at the procession of Orthros and celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Monastery of Agia Triados, Drakotrypa. In his divine sermon, His Holiness elaborated extensively on the wonderful life of Saint Procopius, highlighting his great spiritual journey from the life of worldly power to his total dedication to Christ. At the same time, he connected the example of the Saint with the apostolic reading of the day, through which the Apostle Paul teaches about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual armor with which every Christian is called to be clothed.

Starting his speech, he referred to the first years of the life of Saint Procopius, pointing out that it is a truly wonderful life, which reveals the power of God's grace to transform man. As he mentioned, the Saint's father, Christopher, was a devout Christian, while his mother was a Roman pagan, coming from a family with great influence, power and social power.
