On the 2nd of August, the day on which our Holy Church celebrates the memory of Our Holy Mother Fotini of Cyprus, the holy church of Apostle Andrew and Hosias Fotini in the Kolossi District celebrates. On Saturday, a solemn Vesper service was held by the Theophilist Bishop Amathoustos, Mr. Nikolaos, followed by the procession of the holy icon of Ossia around the church.

This morning, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Limassol Mr. Athanasios. During the celebrations, a piece of the holy relic of Ossia was exposed for veneration.

Qué lindo lo de la procesión con la icona de la santa alrededor del templo. Me llamó la atención que expusieron un trozo de su reliquia para que todos la veneraran. Ojalá el año que viene pueda ir alguien de la parroquia y nos cuente cómo se vive allá.

The procession with the icon around the church sounds beautiful, especially on such a hot August day in Cyprus. I didn't know they had a piece of St. Photini's relic there for veneration; that must have been special for everyone. Cristina, if someone from our parish does make it next year, I'd love to hear what the koliva tasted like afterward.
