The Synod of the Holy Clergy of the Sacred Metropolitanate of Italy in Bolognatranslated

The Synod of the Holy Clergy of the Sacred Metropolitanate of Italy took place in Bologna from September 25 to 26, 2026, following the invitation of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Italy and Exarch of Southern Europe, Bishop Polycarp. The Synod of the Holy Clergy of the Sacred Metropolitanate of Italy was convened. All clergy of the Sacred Metropolitanate, hailing from various ecclesiastical communities throughout the entire Italian jurisdiction, gathered for two days of dialogue, reflection, and exchange of opinions on the major issues concerning pastoral life and the general activity of the Orthodox Church in Italy.

The proceedings began with the sessions of individual Archepiscopal Regions, which were held simultaneously in different rooms. Under the coordination of the local Archepiscopal Councils, the clergy had the opportunity to record the state of their parishes and communities under their pastoral care, examining their functional, pastoral, and organizational life.
