The feast of Indiktos in Ioanninatranslated

On the afternoon of Monday, August 31, 2026, the Great Vespers at the beginning of the new Ecclesiastical Year was celebrated in the Holy Church of Agios Paisios of Saint Caiaphas in the city of Ioannina, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina Mr. Maximos. Today, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the day on which our Holy Church marks the beginning of the new Church Year and honors the memory of our Holy and God-bearing Father Symeon of Stylitos, the Holy Forty Virgins and Amun the Deacon, as well as the Synod of the Blessed Virgin Mary theotokos and Virgin Mary of Pammakaristos, the His Eminence Metropolitan of Ioannina, Mr. Maximos, went to the Holy Church of Agios Paisios of St. Caiaphas in the city of Ioannina, where he officiated at the Holy Orthros and then presided over the Divine Liturgy.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the established Consecration took place.

Merci pour cet article. C’est bon de voir que chez vous à Ioannina on a fêté l’Indictos avec le Grand Vêpres lundi soir et la Liturgie mardi matin dans la même église Saint-Païssios, avec Mgr Maximos qui a tout présidé. L’Aghiasmos après la Divine Liturgie est toujours un beau moment pour commencer l’année ecclésiastique. Chez nous à Strasbourg on fait ça plus modestement, mais c’est la même intention.

Oui, c’est exactement ça, l’Aghiasmos donne toujours ce petit coup de frais pour la nouvelle année. Chez nous à Toulouse on fait aussi le Grand Vêpres la veille et la Liturgie le 1er, mais souvent dans des paroisses plus petites, donc c’est plus familial. Vous avez prévu quelque chose de spécial à Strasbourg pour la rentrée paroissiale ?

У нас в Петербурге тоже всегда служат великий вечерню накануне и литургию первого сентября, а после обязательно агиасмос. Приятно, что в Иоаннине в том же храме святого Паисия всё подряд сделали, с владыкой Максимом. У нас обычно в разных храмах, но ощущение начала года одинаковое.

Oui, l’Aghiasmos après la Liturgie donne vraiment ce petit coup de frais, comme vous dites. Chez nous à Paris, à Saint-Serge, on a fait le Grand Vêpres le lundi soir aussi, mais sans évêque, juste le père Nicolas et une vingtaine de fidèles. C’est plus modeste qu’à Ioannina, pourtant l’intention reste la même. Vous avez des petits-enfants qui viennent parfois à Strasbourg pour ces fêtes ?

Oui, c’est vrai que l’Aghiasmos après la Liturgie marque bien le coup d’envoi. Chez nous à Strasbourg, à la paroisse russe, on a fait l’office le 1er septembre avec le père Dimitri, une vingtaine de personnes et un petit goûter après, rien de grandiose mais ça suffit pour repartir sur de bonnes bases. Vous pensez que Mgr Maximos reviendra souvent à l’église Saint-Païssios cette année ?
