Dimitriados Ignatios: "Let us trust the Virgin Mary with our hearts"translated

On Monday, August 10, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Dimitrias and Almyros, Mr. Ignatios, officiated at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin of Good Waters, during the Holy Prayer Service in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the presence of the President of the Regional Council of Thessaly, Mr. Chrysas Tsaganou and a large number of believers.

At the end of the Holy Prayer, on the initiative of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Holy Church, His Eminence honored the First Apostle Thanos, retired Vicar of the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen of Volos, who was one of the pioneers of the construction of the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin of Good Waters.

The Vicar of the Church Fr. Georgios Kornoutos referred to the historical path of the Holy Church and especially to the decisive contribution of Fr. Apostolos in its construction, 52 years ago, in a particularly difficult time for the local community.
