On the 14th and 15th of August, the Holy Monastery of Panagia of Eikosifonissa on Mount Pangai celebrates The schedule of Holy Masses:

Friday August 14th

7.00 p.m. to 3.00 am of Saturday, Vigil (High Priestly Vespers and Orthros) during the order of Mount Athos.

Saturday, August 15

7.30 am to 10.30 am High Priestly Divine Liturgy and procession of the miraculous holy icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Tuesday, August 25

7.00 am to 10.30 am Orthros and High Priestly Divine Liturgy for the memory of the 172 Holy Martyrs of the Holy Monastery who were massacred under the Agarines.

I can't go this year, but I remember when we were there three years ago on the 15th. The liturgy went on beautifully, and the litany with the icon in the courtyard was the most beautiful part. God grant that they reach the end peacefully.

It's a pity that we won't be able to go this year. I remember how in 2022 my husband and I also attended this liturgy on August 15; the litany with the icon in the monastery courtyard was really memorable. Let us pray for the nuns and for the memory of those 172 martyrs of the 25th.

The all-night vigil on the 14th sounds tough but worth it – I remember how moving the litany with the icon was when I saw photos from a friend who went a couple of years back. Praying the 172 martyrs get remembered properly on the 25th too.
