The Patriarch of Georgia officiated at his Enthronementtranslated

July 13, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 13, the Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of the Twelve Apostles with the old calendar. With particular joy, the celebration took place in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Svetichoveli, which is dedicated to the twelve Apostles. The solemn Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Georgia, Mr. Sio III, whose Enthronement took place in the aforementioned Holy Temple, with whom members of the Holy Synod and other clergy collaborated.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Litany was performed around the Cathedral, after which His Beatitude addressed the congregation with a sermon and wished them for the feast.

Samuel CollinsNice to see the Patriarch serving right where his enthronement happened, in Svetitskhoveli on the Apostles' feast. The litany around the cathedral must have been something. Happy feast to the Georgians!
