The first meeting of the Metropolitan Council of the Archdiocese of Accra was heldtranslated

Yesterday, Saturday August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am, the first meeting of the newly appointed Metropolitan Council of the Holy Orthodox Archdiocese of Accra was held, under the chairmanship of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Accra, Mr. Daniel, at the Offices of the Holy Archdiocese in the Lapaz area of Accra. The meeting was attended by the Pantheological Protopriest Fr. Alexios Abeka Edugian, Vicar General of the Holy Archdiocese, the Pantheological Protopriest Fr. Basilios Bruce, the Pantheological Protopriest Fr. Mantey.

During the meeting, important issues concerning the administrative, pastoral, missionary, educational and charitable ministry of the Holy Archdiocese were examined. Members were presented with a detailed financial report for the period from April 2024, when His Eminence the Metropolitan of Accra was enthroned, to July 2026, which was unanimously approved by the Metropolitan Council.

Okay, congratulations on the first meeting of the new Council. It caught my attention that they unanimously approved the financial report from the enthronement of Metropolitan Daniel in April 2024 to July 2026. What missionary projects did they discuss the most, especially since they mentioned future plans?

Glad the new council got right to work with a full financial report from the enthronement all the way to last month — that’s a solid start. I’m curious what missionary projects they spent the most time on, especially since the article cuts off right there. Fr. Alexios and the rest sound like a good team for Accra.
