Feast of the Transfiguration in Margaritas Mylopotamostranslated
On the afternoon of the great feast of the Divine Transfiguration of the Lord, August 6, 2026, Rev. Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Prodromos officiated during Vespers and the Holy Prayer at the celebratory Holy Exchange of the Transfiguration of the Savior of the Holy Monastery of Karakallos, in the Margarites of Mylopotamos. The hymns were solemnly rendered by young choirs under the spiritual guidance of Reverend Aedesimol. Archpriest Themistocles Christodoulou, cleric of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, who performed the sacred services.
His Eminence, in his brief homily, before the dismissal of the sacred services, referred to the theological meanings of the great Despotic Feast, emphasizing the dominant role of the Most Holy Theotokos, in order for us all to become partakers of the light of the Divine Transfiguration and pointing out the conclusion of the Absolution of the Feast: "Let your light shine on us sinners Aidion, embassy of the Theotokos".
