A few words about the Online Tutoring of Pemtousia The Online Social Tutoring School of Pemtoussia, of the "Saint Maximus the Greek" Institute, is a pioneering project; a welfare institution of digital ministry that utilizes technology for the benefit of people, offering educational support to students from all over Greece and abroad. Its importance, however, is not limited to its educational mission. The Preschool is a dynamic agency of volunteerism and ministry that encourages cooperating teachers and support staff to offer their time and knowledge for the common good.

With the completion of its third year of operation (2025–2026), 81 volunteer teachers and 10 members of the secretariat undertook, with zeal and enthusiasm, to support 950 students in 116 classes in their lessons for FREE. The results and impressions are extremely encouraging.

We do reach out through the parishes first, but a good number of the overseas families find us online too. Our Sunday school here is small this year, only about a dozen kids showing up regularly, but they’re eager. How many families do you usually get in Boston?

It's impressive what they've pulled together. Here in Pittsburgh our parish choir has a few retired teachers who might be open to something like this if it was local and not all online. Peter, have you thought about asking around your own older parishioners for help with the kids?

Our choir director in New York mentioned something similar last month; a couple of our retired teachers already help with Greek school on Saturdays. Elizabeth, do your retired folks mostly tutor in English or do any of them still feel comfortable with the Greek curriculum?
