The Region of Attica and the Holy Archdiocese of Athens are officially creating a common front to deal with a phenomenon that is a scourge for our society today, that of domestic violence. In this context, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., in the presence of the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymou, a Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed between the Region of Attica and the "Initiative for the prevention of domestic violence" of the Youth and Family Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.

Хорошо, что берутся за такое дело вместе. В наших семьях тоже иногда такое скрыто происходит, а помощи почти нет. Интересно, что именно будет делать эта «Пρωτοβουλία» после подписания меморандума?

Добре, че се обединяват регионът и Архиепископията – това е сериозна стъпка. Интересно ми е как точно ще работи тази „Пρωτοβουλία“ на практика, особено за помощ в реални случаи, където хората мълчат от срам. Надявам се да стигне и до обикновените семейства, не само до големите събития.

Good to see the Church and the region teaming up on this. Our own parish has quietly helped a couple of families over the years where things were kept behind closed doors out of shame. I wonder if the new Initiative will include simple, practical training for priests on how to spot the signs and connect people to real help right away.
