In the Holy Church of Agios Evangelistos Loukas in the local community of Kato Makrynos, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Akarnania, Mr. Damascinos, officiated at the Orthros Service and presided over the High Priestly Divine Liturgy, on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Proclaiming the divine word, he said the following: "The Fathers of the Church advise us, in the toil and activities of everyday life, to maintain daily contact with the word of the Gospel, the teaching of our faith and the example of the Saints. Thank you for this text. Particularly memorable were the words of Archbishop, who emphasized "not a single day without prayer, without reading, without thoughts about God." In our kitchen early in the morning it is exactly like that: while the dough rises, I manage to read at least one chapter from the Gospel. Without this, the day seems to fall apart.

Yes, Julia, well said. I also have "not a day without" - if I miss the morning prayer, it is already harder in the evening, as if it were a day without a rod. And Bishop Damaskyn correctly emphasized the system, because without it you quickly go astray. Thanks for the reminder.
