Vucic and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro and Bosniatranslated

Report office ope.gr Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church whose jurisdictions are outside Serbian territory express their thanks and gratitude for the support of the Republic of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vučis personally.   In comparison, the Holy Diocese of Vudimlje and Niksic – whose jurisdiction is located in Montenegro – as well as the Holy Diocese of Bihac and Petrovac – whose jurisdiction includes areas located in Bosnia and Herzegovina – speak warmly of the initiatives and practical support of President Vucic.

The Serbian Church and the complex conditions in Montenegro "The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Vudimlje and Niksic expresses its sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, for his constant attention, care and deep understanding of the complex historical and contemporary conditions under which the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro operates," the Diocese says in its statement of thanks.

It's good to see the bishops in Montenegro and Bosnia publicly thanking Vucic for paying attention to the tough conditions the Church faces there. The part about keeping church unity stood out to me. I hope that practical support actually helps the parishes on the ground.

Thank God that the bishops from Nikšić and Bihać clearly said thank you to Vučić for understanding the difficult circumstances in which our parishes in Montenegro work. It was especially important to me that they mention the preservation of the unity of the Church, that is what we need the most here in our country. I hope that this support will also reach ordinary churches, and not just remain in words.
