Anniversary events in Babini, Etoloakarnaniatranslated

The residents of Babini Municipal Community of Xiromero Municipality honored their fallen ancestors during the heroic Exodus of Messolonghi and during the Revolution of 1821, on Sunday, August 2, 2026 with brilliant religious and cultural events. On Sunday morning in the Parish Church of Agios Nikolaos Babinis, the Orthros Service and the High Priestly Divine Liturgy were held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania, Mr. Damascenes.

Immediately after the Divine Liturgy in the forecourt of the Holy Church, the unveiling of the Votive Column that was erected and completed the Monument to the Fallen Babiniots and includes the names of the fallen and the heroic Exodus of Messolonghi and during the Revolution of 1821. It was preceded by a memorial service by the Metropolitan of Aetolia and Akarnania and followed by laying of wreaths by the representatives of the local authorities.

C’était bien de voir que la nouvelle stèle complète enfin le monument avec tous les noms des morts de Babini pendant l’Exode de Missolonghi. La Divine Liturgie avec Mgr Damaskinos et la prière au monument juste après, ça garde les choses dans l’ordre. J’espère que les garçons pourront venir l’année prochaine, ils aiment ces journées où on mélange la messe et l’histoire du village.

A fost frumos să văd că stela nouă completează monumentul cu toate numele celor căzuți din Babini la Exodul din Missolonghi. Liturghia cu Mitropolitul Damaskinos și rugăciunea imediat după, la monument, păstrează lucrurile în ordine. Sper că băieții noștri au înțeles legătura cu potolirea furtunii din Evanghelie, că și noi avem nevoie de aceeași liniște.
