Metropolitan Irenaios of Floris at the Exodus Procession of Blessed Smaros Laskaridistranslated
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at noon, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Floris, Prespa and Eordaia, Mr. Irenaios, went to the Parish of Levaia, where he performed the Exodus Service of blessed Smaros Laskaridis, mother of the Reverend Father Stavros Laskaridis, in the presence of clergy, relatives and faithful. His Holiness referred to the hope of the Resurrection, which is the foundation of the Christian faith and the source of consolation in the face of human suffering and death. He emphasized that for the Christian, death is not the end of life, but the transition to eternity and the expectation of the common Resurrection.
Concluding, he expressed his warm and sincere condolences to Father Stavros and the relatives of the deceased and wished Anastas Kyoris to rest her soul after the righteous ones and to give comfort and strength to her family.
