His Eminence Archbishop of Chisinau and Metropolitan of Bessarabia Mr. Antonios received on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Metropolitan Residence in Chisinau, the visit of His Excellency Mr. Cristian-Leon Țurcanu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Moldova, accompanied by Mr. Claudiu Chelcea, First Secretary of the Romanian Embassy. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of warm mutual appreciation and was dedicated to the strengthening of cooperation between the Metropolis of Bessarabia and the institutions of the Romanian state, as well as to the discussion of new directions of cooperation in the fields of education, culture, cultural heritage, socio-philanthropic activities and the support of the Romanian communities between Prutus and Nistru.

It is good that education and cultural heritage between Prut and Dniester were discussed. Metropolitan Antonije is right to praise the long-term support of the Romanian Embassy. I hope that it will turn into some concrete help for our parishes there.

I agree with you, Methody. It is especially important to help the parishes between Prut and Dniester with charity, because there people are often in need. I wonder if they will also include some help for the horticultural cooperatives around Chisinau, where many of our compatriots work.
