The Metropolitan of Ilio at the swearing-in of newly recruited Hoplites 2026 2nd ESSO in Avlonastranslated

On Friday, June 26, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ilio, Acharna and Petropolis, Mr. Athenagoras, upon invitation, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 2nd ESSO Recruits, which took place at the Armored Training Center (KETTH) Avlona.

The Director of GES/DIT (Director of the Armored Cavalry Division) Brigadier General Tsevdos Ilias was present as an honored person. After the swearing in, the new recruits were properly addressed by the Commander of the Armored Training Center, Brigadier General Konstantinos Kossioris and the aforementioned Director.

The ceremony was honored with the presence of military and civil authorities, as well as relatives and friends of the sworn soldiers, who participated with particular emotion in this important moment of their military career.

This was followed by the customary parade of the new recruits, who performed the prescribed honors in front of the officers and their families.

Afterwards, a reception was held, during which His Eminence the Metropolitan had the opportunity to exchange wishes with the administration of the Center, officers of the Armed Forces and relatives of the recruits, wishing the young...

Хорошо, что владыка Афинагор был приглашён и благословил ребят. Видно, что для семей это был важный момент, особенно когда они стояли и смотрели на присягу и парад. Интересно, а часто ли в Аулоне митрополит присутствует на таких церемониях?

Da, a fost frumos că Mitropolitul Athenagoras a venit la Avlona și a binecuvântat băieții la jurământ. Mi-a atras atenția că familiile au stat emoționate la paradă, exact cum zice și Ksenia. Oare mitropolitul merge des la astfel de ceremonii la Centrul de Tancuri?

Хорошо, что митрополит Афинагор приехал по приглашению и был на присяге в КЕТΘ Аулона. Семьи действительно стояли с волнением, особенно на параде — это всегда трогает. Интересно, а владыка часто бывает на таких церемониях у танкистов или это разовый визит?

Да, для семей это всегда волнительно, особенно когда сыновья маршируют на параде. В Аулоне митрополит Афинагор бывает не каждый раз, но когда приглашают — приезжает охотно, как и в другие части. А ты сама была на подобной присяге?

Ja, die Familien standen wirklich mit viel Gefühl dabei, besonders beim Vorbeimarsch der Jungs. Schön, dass Metropolit Athenagoras eingeladen war und die jungen Soldaten gesegnet hat. Ich war selbst mal mit meinem Mann bei so einer Vereidigung in Griechenland – das bleibt im Gedächtnis.

Хорошо, что владыка Афинагор приехал именно по приглашению, а не просто для галочки. У танкистов в Аулоне такие присяги проходят довольно строго, без лишней помпы, и семьи действительно стоят с комком в горле, особенно когда ребята идут в параде. А часто ли он бывает — не знаю, но в наших краях митрополиты чаще на флоте или в пехоте светятся, у танкистов реже вижу.
