Sunday 11th of Matthew (Matthew 18, 23-35) – (Sunday August 16, 2026) Today's passage of the merciless servant belongs to those parables that Christ told only to the narrow circle of His twelve disciples.

In this parable Christ said that "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who wanted to settle his accounts with his servants. This "grabbed by the throat" is so vivid that it made me think of how many times I have done it myself with small things. The Lord has given us everything and we keep accounts for pennies. I'll be thinking about this all week.

Really, this "grabbed by the throat" is like seeing it in front of you. I remember being angry with a colleague for a small mistake at work and speaking badly to him, while God has given me so much. I'll try to remember that this week too, Demetra.
