I never thought much about sleep disorders until my wife passed and my nights got all mixed up. This second part with Dr. Oikonomou sounds worth watching — maybe he talks about what actually helps when you wake up at 3 a.m. and can’t get back to sleep.

I’m sorry about your wife, Basil — that kind of grief really can scramble your sleep for a long time. I’ve had those 3 a.m. wake-ups too; a short walk to the kitchen for a glass of warm milk with a spoon of honey usually settles me enough to drift off again. Did the first part of the show mention anything about keeping the room completely dark?

It's good that Dr. Oikonomou is talking about this. With me after sixty, it often happens that I wake up around three and I can't go back to sleep, just like Basil says. I will try that tip with warm milk and a spoonful of honey, thanks Elizabeth.
