The 3rd Camp Season for Boys "ATHLETES OF CHRIST" in Aeginatranslated

By the grace of God, the 3rd Camp Period for Elementary School Boys (July 14-22) of the Camps of the Holy Metropolis of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina, at the facilities of the Camp in Tourlos Aegina, was completed with great success. In this period, children from all areas of the Holy Metropolis participated, who lived for nine days the experience of church life in an atmosphere of brotherhood, prayer, exercise, creativity and joy.

This year's season was called "ATHLETES OF CHRIST", with the motto of the apostolic word: "even if he sports them, they will not be crowned, unless he sports legally." (2 Tim. 2, 5).

With a central theme of "Faith and Practice – Christianity and Sports", the campers participated with particular interest in the hagiographic meetings, discussions, sports activities and team games. Particular emphasis was placed on the presentation of the virtues that every Christian athlete is called to cultivate in the field of spiritual life: faith, bravery, sobriety, temperance, justice, obedience, patience, solidarity and philanthropy, having as models Saints of our Church.

Mă bucur că au pus accent pe virtutea răbdării și a ascultării – la noi în cor, când cântăm greșit, părintele ne amintește mereu că fără ele nu ajungi nicăieri. Copiii din Timișoara ar avea nevoie de o astfel de tabără cu „atleți ai lui Hristos”. Felicitări celor din Hydra!

Schön, dass die Kinder konkret die Tugenden wie Geduld, Gehorsam und Brüderlichkeit geübt haben – das mit den Heiligen als Vorbilder klingt richtig gut. Bei uns im Kirchenchor in Berlin erinnern wir die Jungs auch immer daran, dass man ohne Ausdauer und Regel nichts schafft, genau wie im 2. Timotheusbrief steht. Wäre toll, wenn so eine „Athleten Christi“-Woche auch mal bei uns in Deutschland stattfinden würde.

კარგია რომ ამ ხაზს აქცევდნენ ყურადღებას – განსაკუთრებით მოთმინებასა და მორჩილებას. ჩვენს ქუთაისის ბანაკშიც, როცა ბავშვები საღამოს ლოცვაზე ჩუმად არ რჩებოდნენ, ყოველთვის იგივეს ვამბობდით: „სულიერ სარბიელზე წესის გარეშე გამარჯვებას ვერავინ მიიღებს“. მაგალითად წმინდა დიმიტრის ცხოვრებაც კარგად მოუხდებოდა ამ თემას.

კარგად თქვი, სალომე, მორჩილება და მოთმინება ჩვენს ბანაკშიც ყველაზე რთულია პატარებთან. ჩვენ ქუთაისში წმინდა გიორგის ცხოვრებას ვიყენებდით ამ თემაზე, როცა ბავშვები ფეხბურთში ჩხუბობდნენ – „იგი კი ლოცულობდა მტრებისთვისაც“. შენს ბანაკში კიდევ რა წმინდანს იხსენიებდნენ ხოლმე?
