With particular splendor and religious fervor, the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers with Artoklasia was celebrated on the evening of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the eve of the great Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, in the celebratory Metropolitan Church of Christ the Savior in Pothia Kalymnos. I remember attending the Transfiguration vespers in Pothia years ago – the church was packed and the artoklasia smelled wonderful. Nice to see Metropolitan Evangelos back on Kalymnos for it. Hope the choir sounded as strong as usual.

It’s good that Bishop Evangelos came to his homeland to serve again. I remember how in Potia, at the same all-night vigil before the Transfiguration, the air from the artoklasia stood - bread with wine and oil. I wonder if the choir this year also sang “Thou art transformed” in such a way that it gives me goosebumps?

Here in Kragujevac, they always bake the same sweet bread with oil and wine on the Transfiguration, so the smell hit me immediately when I read about the artoklasya in Potija. I am glad that Bishop Evangelos came to Kalymnos again, a man from those parts still serves differently when he is at home. Did the choir sing that troparion that gets into your bones again this year?

I also remember that smell of warm bread with oil and wine during the artoclasia in Pothia, how many times I was there with my husband before the children were born. It is good that Metropolitan Evangelos returned to his island to preside; he seems to feel differently when he is at home. Does anyone know how the choir passed this year?

In Krasnodar, on Transfiguration, they always do artoklasia, and the smell of warm bread with butter and wine immediately comes to mind. It’s nice that Bishop Evangelos came to serve in his native Kalmnos again; it’s clear that this is special for him. Did the choir sing “Thou art transformed” this time?

I remember how in Potia, on the same evening before the Transfiguration, the smell of warm bread with oil and wine filled the whole church. It is good that Bishop Evangelos came to serve on his native island again. I wonder if the choir this time sang "Preobrazilsya esy" as strongly as usual.

Yes, Kristaq, I also remember that smell of warm bread with oil and wine that spread in the artoklas, especially when it was full of people. I liked that Metropolitan Evangelos is back on his island again – it really seems calmer there. This year our local choir was well prepared, but there were some new voices from the Sunday School children who are still learning. have you been there

In Yekaterinburg, we also always do artoklasia for the Transfiguration, and this smell of warm bread and wine directly fills the entire church. It’s good that Bishop Evangelos comes to his homeland to serve; it feels like it’s special for him. Does your choir in Krasnodar often sing “Thou art transformed” on this holiday?
