The wedding is the most significant event in life, even for the humble and lowly, and especially for the wealthy and powerful. To be invited to such a wedding carries great honor. In the same way, God invites all people without exception to His Kingdom, particularly those belonging to the humble people, explains Archimandrite Apostolos Nikolaides, Honorary Professor of Theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and President of the Institute “Saint Maximus the Greek,” in the program *Sunday School*.

I think of that parable of guests who refuse the king's table and others come from the roads. It stuck in my head how the teacher says that God calls us all, even us, the Romanians from Moldova, as His people. I'll look for the show on pemptousia.tv tonight after I close the kitchen.

That parable always gets me—the king’s feast and the folks who blow off the invite, so random people from the streets get brought in instead. Professor Nikolaidis is right that God keeps calling everybody, even us regular working stiffs, no matter where we’re from. I’ll try to watch the episode tonight after the dinner rush at the diner.

That parable hits home for me too, especially the part where the king sends servants out to the crossroads after the first guests bail.
