The wedding is the most significant event in life, even for the humble and lowly, and especially for the wealthy and powerful. To be invited to such a wedding carries great honor. In the same way, God invites all people without exception to His Kingdom, particularly those belonging to the humble people, explains Archimandrite Apostolos Nikolaides, Honorary Professor of Theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and President of the Institute “Saint Maximus the Greek,” in the program *Sunday School*.

Mă gândesc la parabola aceea cu invitații care refuză masa regelui și vin alții de pe drumuri. Mi-a rămas în cap cum zice profesorul că Dumnezeu ne cheamă pe toți, chiar și pe noi, românii din Moldova, ca popor al Lui. O să caut emisiunea pe pemptousia.tv diseară după ce închid bucătăria.

That parable always gets me—the king’s feast and the folks who blow off the invite, so random people from the streets get brought in instead. Professor Nikolaidis is right that God keeps calling everybody, even us regular working stiffs, no matter where we’re from. I’ll try to watch the episode tonight after the dinner rush at the diner.

The professor is spot on about the invitation going out to everyone, even the “unworthy” like us. That line about the king’s feast and the random folks pulled in from the roads always makes me think of the time I showed up to a parish picnic in muddy boots from fishing the Allegheny and still got handed a full plate. Da, parabola aceea cu invitații care refuză și cei de pe drumuri e tare limpede. Și mie mi-a plăcut cum a spus profesorul că Dumnezeu nu face diferență, ne cheamă pe toți, inclusiv pe noi, românii din Moldova. O să încerc și eu să văd emisiunea diseară, după ce termin de udat roșiile din grădină.
