The Diocese of Raska and Prizren calls for an independent investigation into the abuse of a Serb in Kosovotranslated

With feelings of deep concern, pain and indignation, the Holy Diocese of Raska and Prizren refers, in its announcement, to the case of Nenad Raskovic, a resident of the village of Dren near Zubin Potok, who is hospitalized with serious injuries, which, according to his testimony, he suffered from three men of the Kosovo Police. According to the Diocese's statement, Raskovic, speaking from his hospital bed, alleged that officers initially beat him inside his family's home, demanding that he hand over a gun, which he claims he does not own. Then, he testified, they handcuffed him, took him to a wooded area, tied him to a beech tree and beat him with a rubber hose, while covering his mouth with a cloth.

He also allegedly complained that the police then threatened his son and harassed his wife, who is of Albanian nationality, making references to their possible mission to Albania, while, according to his testimony, they announced that they would return to the family home again.

This sounds brutal. Beating a man in his own house, then tying him to a beech tree and going after his wife and kid like that is just wrong. Hope the independent investigation actually happens and we get real answers instead of another cover-up.
