Joachim came from the tribe of Judah and was a descendant of David. He married Anna, daughter of Mattan the Priest from the tribe of Levi and Mary, his wife, from the tribe of Judah. The couple Joachim and Anna spent their lives happily, Joachim died eight years after the Entry of the Virgin into the church, at the age of 92, and Anna 11 months later, at the age of 83 (The Virgin was miraculously born, Joachim was 80 years old and Anna was 70).
