The great Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior was celebrated with splendor throughout the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania. The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania, Mr. Damaskinos, on the evening of the eve, Wednesday, August 5, 2026, visited the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior in Pentalofo Messolonghi, where he officiated at the solemn Vespers and preached the divine word.

He also presented to the Parishioners of Pentalofos their new Pastor Fr. Ioustinou Mourtziapis, wishing him a fruitful ministry.

This was followed by the procession of the Holy Icon through the streets of the town, with the participation of a large number of people, among whom were the MPs of Etoloakarnania Mr. Thanasis Papathanasis and Mr. Miltos Zambaras.

On the morning of the main day, Thursday August 6, our Reverend Pastor Mr. Damaskinos went to the historic, women's, Holy Transfiguration Monastery of Sotiros Pantokrator Angelokastro, where he officiated at the procession of Orthros and presided over the solemn Divine Liturgy.
