My father’s uncle lost everything in Smyrna and ended up in Chania with just the clothes on his back. Nice to see the parish still keeping the memory alive at St. Nicholas. Thanks for the report.

My aunt’s family also fled Smyrna in ’22 and settled in Chania, so St. Nicholas in Splantzia always feels personal to me. Good to hear they still hold the full liturgy for the memory instead of just speeches. Thanks for posting the details.
