Feast of the Metropolitan Chapel of Agia Paraskevi in N. Ioniatranslated

The holy memory of the glorious Holy Martyr Paraskevi of Athliphoros was celebrated with due splendor in the Holy Chapel of the same name, located at the entrance of the Metropolitan Palace in Nea Ionia. On the eve of the holiday, Saturday July 25, 2026, the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers was celebrated, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon Mr. Gabriel.

Earlier, as part of the celebration of the Holy Chapel, His Eminence received a portion of the Holy Relic of Saint Panteleimon of Iamatikos, which was placed in prostration for the blessing and sanctification of the faithful.

The divine word was preached by Metropolitan Mr. Gabriel, who referred to the life and gifts of Saint Paraskevi.

Afterwards, a procession of the Holy Icon and the Holy Relics of Agia Paraskevi and Agios Panteleimonos took place.

On the main day of the feast, Sunday, July 26 (The 1st of Matthew), the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Gabriel officiated at the procession of Orthros and then celebrated the Solemn Divine Liturgy, flanked by clergy of the Holy Metropolis.

Paul JohnsonThe relic of St. Panteleimon being brought in for veneration sounds like it made the whole feast even stronger. I always like hearing when they do the litany with both the icon and the relics together. Wish we had something like that here in Dallas this weekend.

Nicholas LewisThe part about bringing in the relic of St. Panteleimon for veneration before the Great Vespers really stood out to me too. It must have been something special to have both the icon and the relics in the litany together the next day. We don’t get that kind of thing very often around here either.
