Visit of Metropolitan Florinis to Ptolemaidatranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Floris, Prespo and Eordaia Mr. Irenaios was in Ptolemaida, where on Thursday July 23, 2026 he had a series of meetings with government officials and attended events held in the city. Initially, His Eminence attended the event for the Just Developmental Transition, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Mr. Nikolaos Papathanasis, the Minister of Health Mr. Adonis Georgiadis and the Commander of the Special Service for Just Developmental Transition Mr. Pelopidas Kalliris. During the event, new development projects and actions in the health sector were announced, such as the creation of the Psychogeriatric Center of the Holy Metropolis.

Afterwards, he went to Bodosakeio Ptolemais Hospital, where he performed the Consecration for the inauguration of the renovated Emergency Department.

His Holiness did well to go first to the Psychogeriatric Center of the Metropolis and then to the Consecration for Emergencies in Bodosakeio. It is important to take care of the mental health of the elderly as well, especially now that the area is changing. I hope the works move forward quickly.

I agree, Dhimitër, the order chosen by His Holiness shows that we do not forget the old people who live alone. I, who often go to the church in Ptolemais, know how important such a center is, especially now that many have lost their jobs from the mines. I hope they don't stop at words.
