The President of the Order of Lords of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Archdiocese of Canada, Mr. Evangelos Sotiropoulos, in an exclusive interview with the "National Herald", talks about the climate prevailing in Canada after the election of the new Archbishop Apostolos, about the preparations for his enthronement, the challenges that await him and the expectations of the Church staff. From all that I have seen and heard, I can confidently characterize the climate as one of joyful anticipation for the arrival of our new shepherd in Christ Jesus, the Most Reverend Archbishop Apostolos. From comments on the Archdiocese's social media platforms, discussions in parishes and conversations with many relatives and friends, the faithful in Canada are opening their hearts, souls and minds (cf. Matt. 22:37) with love to welcome their new Archbishop. Αντώνης ΑντωνίουIt would be good to see a few words about the challenges that await the new Archbishop Apostolos, as Mr. Sotiropoulos says. I was impressed that he talked about the climate of "joyful anticipation" – it seems that parishes in Canada really have an appetite. May the Venerable Sotirios also be well for what he left behind.
