September 28, 2026 · 1 min read

The Reverend Metropolitan of Fthiotidos, Mr. Simeon, performed the closing ceremony of yet another Church, this time at the Parish Cemetery in the beautiful Lianokladi, in this fertile area of the Municipality of Lamia, which connects the Municipality of Lamia with the Municipality of Makrakomi and the historic Western Fthiotida. The renovation looks solid—Father Efstathios and the whole parish really pulled together with the council and all those donors. Nice to see the old pre-revolutionary church ties remembered, especially after what happened to Saint George’s under the Sultan. Our own church group here in Pittsburgh just finished a smaller cemetery chapel project last year; it’s rewarding work.
