Event Marking the Beginning of the New Ecclesiastical Year in the Metropolis of Kissamostranslated

The Parish of St. George of the Tower and the Women’s Cultural Association of the Tower organized an event in the beautiful courtyard of the Church of St. George of the Tower, dedicated to the beginning of the Indiction and the environment. The event commenced with a Blessing for the new ecclesiastical year, offered by His Grace Bishop Amphilochios of Kissamos and Selino. This was followed by the reading of the solemn message of the Indiction from His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew. The Parish Priest, Venerable Protopresbyter Anthony Koumis, then welcomed the gathering, after which greetings were extended by representatives of various organizations. Psychologist Mr. Nikolaos Tripodakis subsequently delivered a lecture on the topic: “Climate Disruption – Human Intervention (?).” In his thoughtful and substantive address, accompanied by visual presentations, the speaker addressed “the great problem of humanity, the climate crisis, a consequence of humanity’s reckless behavior toward the environment.” He discussed the impacts on the planet, Europe, Greece, and specifically Crete and Kissamos.
