Father Christos Tsitmidellis undertakes the Pilgrimage of the Taxiarch to Mandamadostranslated

The position of president of the Ecclesiastical Council of the pilgrimage of the Supreme Commanders in Mandamado was assumed by the decision of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mithymni, Mr. Chrysostomou, Fr. Christos Tsitmidellis. It is about a dear priest in the wider area of Northern Lesvos and beyond, who after the retirement of Fr.

Father Christos served as co-priest for a number of years at the side of Blessed Father Efstratiou.

A few days ago the local community of Lesvos and especially Mandamados bid farewell to Protopresbyter Efstratios Dissos, a priest who dedicated his entire life to the Church and to the ministry of his fellow man, identifying his name with the Pilgrimage of Taxiarchis.

Blessed Father Efstratios served the Holy Altar for 60 consecutive years, becoming a point of reference for the local Church and a spiritual support for countless believers. With his morals, modesty and selfless offering, he left an indelible mark...

May his memory be eternal. Fr. Christos has been right there serving alongside Fr. Efstratios for years, so it feels like a natural handoff for the shrine. I remember seeing that video of him feeding the stray dogs at the monastery — glad he’s the one taking over.

Hvala Vesna, baš si u pravu – posle toliko godina pored oca Eustratija čovek je upoznao svaki ćošak tog svetog mesta. A što se tiče pasa, oni mi stvarno pomažu da ostanem strpljiv, naročito kad neko od njih odbije da jede ono što sam mu dao. Jesi li ikad bila u Mandamadosu?
