Saint Kyriaki of Athena Street (VIDEO)translated

The Holy Church of Agia Kyriaki on Athena Street in Athens was built, according to estimates, during the years of the Turkish occupation and functioned as a cemetery church. Father Gerasimos Philippatos guides Pemptousia.TV and journalist Dimitris Strumbakos around the church and presents the rare hagiographies and old icons.

On the south side, the hagiographies are inspired by the Symbol of Faith and the Sunday prayer "Our Father...". On the north side, they are inspired by the twenty-four houses of the Akathistos Hymn.

Спасибо, интересный храм. Никогда не слышала, что южная сторона с росписями по Символу Веры и «Отче наш», а северная — по Акафисту. Хорошая идея, надо будет посмотреть видео.

Mulțumesc pentru articol. Nu știam de bisericuța asta de pe strada Athinas, cu picturile de pe peretele sudic după Crez și „Tatăl nostru”, iar pe cel nordic după cele 24 de ode ale Acatistului. O idee frumoasă, am să văd și eu video-ul diseară.

Oui, j’ai regardé la vidéo hier soir en rentrant de l’école. Les explications du père Gérassimos sur les fresques du sud sont vraiment claires, on voit bien le lien avec le Credo et le Notre Père. Ça m’a donné envie d’y passer un samedi après-midi, même si c’est un peu loin de chez nous. Tu comptes y aller bientôt ?
