Рад бачити, що монастир після ремонту знову став таким гарним. Митрополит Хризостомос разом з єпископом Антонієм і всіма місцевими священиками — ота служба в католиконі напередодні свята, мабуть, була особливою. Дякую за фото, бо на Сімі я ще не був, але тепер хочеться поїхати й помолитися там.

Καλή χρονιά στην Παναγία Σύμη. Το ανακαινισμένο μοναστήρι του Μεγάλου Σωτήρος φαίνεται εντυπωσιακό, και ο Χρυσόστομος με τον Αντώνιο και τους ιερείς του νησιού έκαναν ωραία δουλειά στον εσπερινό. Θα ήθελα να δω και φωτογραφίες από μέσα, γιατί πέρσι πέρασα από τη Σύμη αλλά δεν πρόλαβα να ανέβω.

The renovated monastery really stands out in those pictures. I noticed Bishop Antonios was there with Metropolitan Chrysostomos for the Great Vespers in the catholicon the night before – that must have been something to hear with all the local priests chanting together. M-am bucurat să citesc despre mănăstirea renovată de la Megalos Sotiros. E frumos că Mitropolitul Chrysostomos a slujit împreună cu Episcopul Antonios și cu toți preoții locali la vecernia din ajun, în catholicon. Poate data viitoare când ajungem cu familia în Dodecanez, trecem și pe la Symi să vedem cum arată acum.

Mă bucur și eu că au renovat mănăstirea, Corina. Am auzit de la un prieten care a fost anul trecut la Symi că acum arată mult mai îngrijită, mai ales catholiconul. Dacă ajungeți cu familia, spune-mi cum ți s-a părut față de ce era înainte – eu n-am apucat să văd varianta veche.

The renovation certainly makes the monastery look fresh and inviting again. I especially liked how Bishop Antonios joined Metropolitan Chrysostomos with all five local priests and the deacon for that Vespers – the chanting in the catholicon must have carried right down the hill. Have you ever made it over to Symi for the feast?

The renovation does look lovely from the photos – that fresh white on the walls really stands out against the hillside. I’ve only been to Symi once, for the Panormitis feast, never managed the Transfiguration one yet. Did the chanting sound as good as it must have in the catholicon?
