Awarding of the Golden Cross of the Patron Saint of Piraeus Spyridonos to the GEETHA Chief General Dimitrios Houpistranslated

On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Chief of GEETHA, General Dimitrios Houpis, was awarded the Golden Cross after the Star of the Patron Saint of Piraeus, Saint Spyridon, as the highest honor, in recognition of his contribution and dedication to the defense of the Motherland and the Nation. The ceremony took place at the Veakeio Theater of Piraeus, as part of the Charity Concert, "Concert against Poverty", which was organized by the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus with the aim of strengthening the General Philanthropy Fund, the donations and the multifaceted charity work of the local Church.

During the event, the Head of GEETHA addressed a greeting, expressing his warm thanks to the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Piraeus Mr. Seraphim for this highly honorable distinction. Greetings were also addressed by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Piraeus Mr. Seraphim, the Regional Governor of Attica Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias and the Mayor of Piraeus Mr. Ioannis Moralis.
