High Priest Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Manikia - Kymitranslated

August 30, 2026 · 1 min read

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Karystia and Skyros, Mr. Seraphim, as part of his pastoral visits, paid a pastoral visit to the parish of Manikia in the district of Konistron - Konistron Kymi, where he celebrated the High Priestly Divine Liturgy in the parish church of the Dormition of the Virgin with the participation of Panos Archim Antonios Angelopoulos and the Economist Aristidos Roussos vicar of the Kremastos and Manikia Divisions.

During the social, Reverend Mr. Seraphim developed the gospel reading, which includes the parable of the bad farmers.

More specifically, Reverend Mr. Seraphim narrated the content of the passage and analyzed the symbolism of the vine in the Holy Bible.

Finally, Saint Karystias wished the faithful to bear fruit spiritually like vines, so as to secure the Kingdom of Heaven.

Then the Reverend Mr. Seraphim performed holy memorial services for pious parishioners.

The parable of the wicked tenants is one I always need to hear again. It was good that Metropolitan Seraphim took time to explain the vine imagery straight from Scripture; those few extra minutes make the Gospel sit differently in your mind. Nice to see the memorials for the departed parishioners at the end too – it feels like the whole parish is still one family.
